SCADA Engineer III – Critical Infrastructure remote job, USA. by SmartTech Contracting LLC

Salary - $78,750–$95,812.50 / yr

Requirements

Must have

  • Senior level
  • Valid REAL ID or passport for domestic travel
  • 4–6 years engineering or developing SCADA systems in mission-critical, industrial, utility or infrastructure settings
  • Experience designing and developing SCADA systems, not solely configuring HMIs
  • Strong understanding of SCADA architecture, data modeling, alarm management and HMI/graphics philosophy
  • Strong understanding of system integration, communications, commissioning workflows, IST and live cutovers
  • Ability to independently execute complex SCADA scopes with limited oversight
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% and support extended hours during commissioning or cutover events
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move tools or equipment up to 50 lbs

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Controls, Automation, Computer, Mechanical) or related field
  • Relevant industry certifications or advanced technical training
  • Experience with major SCADA platforms (Ignition, AVEVA/Wonderware, WinCC, FactoryTalk or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting mission-critical infrastructure environments

What you'll actually do

  • Design and develop SCADA systems in accordance with project requirements and STC standards
  • Translate design intent, sequences of operation and operational requirements into SCADA configurations, scripts and logic
  • Configure alarms, graphics and data models consistent with established architecture
  • Coordinate SCADA engineering efforts with project managers, engineers, field leadership and commissioning teams
  • Support FAT, IST and commissioning activities and troubleshooting during live system cutovers
  • Provide guidance and technical support to junior engineers
