Requirements
Must have
- Senior level
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of related product design experience
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software and PDM software
- Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes and production techniques in steel and sheet metal
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational, critical thinking, communication and people skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and priorities
- Availability for periodic weekend or evening work
Nice to have
- Product design experience in a manufacturing environment
- Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault
What you'll actually do
- Design, develop and enhance new and existing products and product lines
- Analyze market trends, customer requirements and feedback to develop product concepts in 3D CAD
- Evaluate and recommend specifications to meet technical and functional requirements
- Create manufacturable technical drawings, installation drawings and supporting documentation
- Perform feasibility, functional and quality testing of designs
- Work with other engineers to align designs with production capabilities and compliance standards
