What you'll actually do

• Manage operating room activities outside the sterile field and nursing care of the surgical patient
• Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications (oral, subcutaneous, IV)
• Initiate, maintain and discontinue IVs
• Monitor sterile and aseptic techniques in all areas of the perioperative process
• Document patient assessment findings, responses to nursing intervention and progress
