Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Current CPR certificate
1+ year of experience as a medical assistant or in a patient-facing role in a clinic or hospital
Knowledge of clinical processes and principles, and medical practice protocols and standards
Familiarity with state and federal healthcare laws (HIPAA, scope of practice)
Proficiency in basic medical procedures, such as taking vital signs and administering medications
Skilled in patient care documentation; proficiency in EMR systems
Occasionally lift, carry or move up to 50 lbs of equipment

Completion of a medical assisting program
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential
Pediatric experience
Vaccine administration experience

Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for examinations
Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature and pulse
Assist healthcare providers during medical procedures and examinations
Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers
Greet patients and visitors, answer phone calls and schedule appointments
Analyze, update and maintain patients' medical records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
