Requirements
Must have
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 to 3 years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience
- Proven experience in outbound sales or telemarketing
- Familiarity with sales techniques and customer relationship management (CRM) software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent negotiation and persuasion abilities
- Courtesy and tact in personal contact with customers
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field
- Previous experience in sales or customer service roles
What you'll actually do
- Initiate outbound calls to prospective customers to introduce products or services
- Communicate product features and benefits, including consumer, auto and unsecured loans
- Qualify leads by understanding customer needs, budget constraints and decision-making processes
- Make referrals to business partners for additional products including mortgages and investments
- Close sales deals and finalize contracts with customers to meet and exceed sales targets
- Sell ancillary products including credit life and disability, gap and MRC
