Diesel Technician/Mechanic III job in Sanford, NC, USA. by Penske

Requirements

Junior level
Valid driver's license
Current DOT driver qualification file, including annual MVR check and DOT physical
Background screening and drug screen
Ability to solve problems and comfort using tools
Basic computer skills
Work adhering to DOT, OSHA and Penske safety and maintenance policies
Regularly lift up to 50 lbs, occasionally up to 100 lbs; push/pull truck tires over 100 lbs
Work safely at heights and in all weather conditions

High school diploma or equivalent
Vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair
Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience

Make sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers
Use Penske's tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
Do preventative maintenance repairs, like replacing or rotating tires
Complete component lubrication and replacement, some electrical repairs and cooling system maintenance
Work on gas and diesel engine vehicles
Partner with your manager to learn new skills through technician training and hands-on coaching
