Requirements
Must have
- Mid level
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of customer service experience
- At least 1 year of hands-on mechanical experience
- Work adhering to DOT, OSHA and Penske safety and maintenance policies
- Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule and location
- Background investigation and drug screening
- Regularly lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs
- Able to work safely at heights and in all weather conditions
Nice to have
- 2 years of supervisory experience
- At least 2 years of service department administration
- Associate's degree, technical school degree or Bachelor's degree
- ASE certification
- Experience with service scheduling programs and diagnostic programs
What you'll actually do
- Develop daily and weekly workforce plans based on customer needs, repairs, parts and technician hours
- Communicate with customers on maintenance updates, billing concerns and service issues
- Assure that all Penske Rental units are maintained and prepared for customers
- Ensure parts are available for scheduled work
- Hold vendors accountable for quality and adherence to schedule for outside work
- Maintain shop productivity by optimizing the work plan
