Requirements

Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
Evidence of excellent attendance, punctuality and dependability
Ability to use cleaning materials and equipment with skill, efficiency and safety
Ability to operate scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, lawn mowers and other equipment
Ability to travel independently within the library and in the communities served
Constant repositioning to clean restrooms, public and office spaces
Occasionally move objects up to 50 lbs
Exposure to weather conditions when working outside the library

Walk all areas to find and fix messes, spills or hazards before others report them
Clean up spills, wet floors and broken items the moment they are discovered
Wipe down elevator buttons, handrails, touchscreens and glass surfaces many times a day
Check restrooms every hour to clean surfaces and fill soap and paper supplies
Sort and stock supplies and keep cleaning chemicals and paper products organized
Empty trash bins as soon as they are three-quarters full to prevent overflows
