Requirements

Valid license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in the State of California
Bachelor's degree with completion of an accredited clinical laboratory training program
Minimum 1 year recent experience in an approved hospital laboratory
Knowledge of clinical laboratory instruments, equipment, terminology and routines
Knowledge of quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control procedures
Knowledge of federal, state and local laws governing clinical laboratory practices
Ability to handle absentee replacement on short notice
Ability to work occasional irregular hours

Perform quantitative and qualitative clinical laboratory determinations as requested by physicians
Procure specimens, compute test results and submit completed reports
Plan and organize diagnostic testing procedures on patient specimens
Maintain concise and complete records and test reports
Participate in quality assurance, quality control, proficiency testing and policy and procedure review
Participate in in-service training and staff development
