Requirements
Must have
- Graduate of accredited Surgical Technology Program
- Certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
- 0 to 3 years of experience
- Available for call team; report to work within 30 minutes when called in
What you'll actually do
- Facilitate safe and effective invasive and non-invasive surgical procedures under surgeon supervision
- Ensure availability and preparedness of OR rooms, supplies and equipment
- Assist with positioning, prepping and draping the patient and establishing the sterile field
- Perform initial instrument, sharps and sponge counts with the circulator
- Maintain the sterile field and anticipate needs of the surgeon during the operative period
- Clean and prepare instruments for decontamination cleaning and terminal sterilization
