Requirements
Must have
- High school diploma or general education degree
- 6 months' experience in manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of paints (urethane and wash primers), thinners, spray guns and vic systems
- Knowledge of cleaning and rebuilding spray guns and proper air pressures for product uses
- Understanding of work orders
- Basic mathematical calculations at a high school level
- Wear forced air respirator system
- Lift up to 10 lbs regularly and up to 60 lbs occasionally
What you'll actually do
- Lay out, set up and align painting process
- Perform surface preparation prior to painting, including mixing and applying hardener and filler
- Spray primer, paint filler and protective paint on prepared surfaces
- Rough and finish parts using sandpaper and hand sanding machines
- Select premixed paints or mix pigment, oil, thinning and drying substances to match specified colors
- Inspect parts to verify paint meets finish requirements
